respiratory distress syndrome, fetal septicemia, and meningitis.
-Common bacteria carried in the intestines/ lower genital tract that can
pass from mother to fetus.
-S+S: fever, weak muscle tone, low body temp, difficulty feeding.
Calories recommended for pregnant women: - ANSWER +300 during
pregnancy, and +500 during lactation. Total daily calorie intake for
women is 1800 so +300 during pregnancy is 2100 calories daily
